The Santur, Santouri, Santour or Santoor is a hammered dulcimer (sort of an ancient Cimbalom) of Babylonian origin, currently played in several countries around the Balkans, Middle East and Eastern Europe.

This library has been deeply sampled in order to give the composer a great tool made by very different colours of sound thanks to the use of three sets of mallets (wooden, semi soft and soft mallets) and three different damper configurations (no dampers for long sustains, one damper for staccato, two dampers for staccatissimo).

Two microphone positions, over six thousand samples and quarter-tone tuning options make this library a very versatile tool which fulfills every type of user.

Our CHAOS engine has also been added to multiply the textures and possibilities this library has to offer. We hope you enjoy using this library as much as we enjoyed making for you.

3 Different Mallet Types

The 8Dio Santur offers you three different mallet types. The instrument is very responsive to mallets, so we deep-sampled it with Wooden, Semi-Soft and Felt Mallets. The Wooden is more defined and epic in its sound. The Semi-Soft is great for normal tempered material and the Felt Mallet gives a gentle and warm presence in the sound. All mallets also contain unique samples for dampeners, so you can choose how dampened you want the sound.

3 Dampener States & Trills/Rolls

The 8Dio Santur contains three dampening types. Full open sustains, semi-dampened staccato and fully dampened staccatissimo. Essentially the dampener shortens the sound, which is why we used traditional orchestral names for it. We also recorded a massive section of trill/rolls – both with all three mallet types and in the three dampening states. The idea is what you mix the normal multi-samples with the trills – to generate a completely live sounding performance.

We stopped short at providing the percussion parts separate because with the various formats of drum kits available, combined with the MIDI, these can easily be created and/or edited to suit your track. We have also consciously provided all the One-Shots with the Loops Pack Versions if working with MIDI isn't your bag and you wish to add layers and edits such as fills and rolls.

To add spice to the drums we have included a selection of 48 Bass Patches spawning 48 Bass Loops and associated MIDI plus 32 Stab Patches. Of course there is much more, so be sure to check out the Tech Specs for all the available formats and what else is included.

Once again the flexibility of MIDI combined with exceptional sounds lies at the heart of this library giving you, the producer, the freedom to take your productions in whichever creative direction you choose.

Heavy weight trance producer Dave Parkinson is back with a momentous follow up to his legendary "Trance Essentials” sample pack.

Dave Parkinson Future Trance Essentials contains 19+ Gb of uncompressed first-class trance production content including drum hits, drum loops, synth loops, bass loops, FX, presets and more from one of the most sought after producer/engineers in the dance music scene. The content covers a combination of future progressive (80’s, deep and ‘Prydz’ inspired progressive), full on Team 140 style, tech-trance, psy trance and deep/progressive, but is equally usable in genres such as Synthwave and techno due to the wide range of BPM’s covered.

With this sample pack we wanted to truly build on the solid foundations of the first pack but go a step further. This time round each bass loop has a corresponding synth loop, with each element being carefully keyed and BPM labelled for ease of use. Additionally the drum loops are now broken down further with dedicated hi-hat, percussion, shaker and techno percussion loops included, allowing for more comprehensive mixing and matching than was previously possible.

Sample Pack Content (Part 1)

First off we have a complete and comprehensive sample pack containing thousands of drum one shots (kicks, open hats, closed hats, snares, cymbals, percussion, etc.), hundreds of drum, percussion/top loops, a highly comprehensive FX section (all neatly categorised, named and labelled), actual ‘usable’ melodic and bass line loops (each provided with associated MIDI files and in most cases patches), hundreds of synth, bass and stab one shots, synth presets and much more.

Every sample is clearly named and numbered with appropriate BPM and key labelling information appended to each filename. Along with this, all files are carefully categorized into a well thought out folder structure in classic Freshly Squeezed Samples style, so it’s both quick and easy to find the sound you are looking for in during those late night studio sessions.

Construction Kits (Part 2)

Secondly we have 10 complete, truly usable construction kits each containing the individual stems and associated MIDI files for each melodic element. Each construction kit has its own distinct mood, but thanks to the intuitive file naming, you can quick and easily swap out loops, samples and MIDIs and try out thousands of potential combinations.

We will show you how to come up with interesting and fresh chord progressions for various types of musical genres like house, pop, rock, rnb, blues, classic, future bass, progressive house and many more.
We are going to show you many nice sound examples - offering a practical application of our theoretical frameworks.
We are going to deeply analyze chord progressions and find out :
- Why some chord progressions simply work and others don't.
- Rules and codes for “hit song" progressions.

How this course is structured

In the first part of this course you are going to learn the basics of harmony and chord progressions.
In the second part you will learn how to come up with great sounding harmonies and chord progressions and how to find voicings "that work" in your own compositions and make them sound more interesting.
Along the way, we are going to share a lot of our specific composition knowledge and experience.
You will get around 3 hours of studio sessions with Francois.

Who is it made for?

This course is designed for electronic music producers - we are going to take the perspective of someone working inside a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation - like Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio).
The course is designed for beginners but its also suitable for advanced learners of the subject as we go into great detail after our first “basics” block is covered.
